Visit Duluth for our Fourth Fest which begins next week. July 1 opens with Concerts by the Lake at Glensheen Mansion. Before the concert, enjoy the sailboat races on Lake Superior. See “Superman” on the really big screen with the Movies in the Park at Leif Erikson Park. Stroll through Canal Park and take in the art galleries. The Duluth Huskies take on the St. Cloud Riverbats July 3rd & 4th. The Tall Ship Denis Sullivan will arrive in the Duluth port on July 3. Tours begin July 4. Duluth’s Fourth Fest at Bayfront Festival Park begins in the afternoon with good, vendors, kid’s games and music. Fireworks start after sundown. See the show aboard one of the Vista Boats. But we aren’t done yet! July 5 has the Los Lonely Boys concert at Bayfront. Click Here for a full schedule of events for July 4, 2009.
Grandma

The race festivities start next week with Whipper Snapper Races for Kids at 2pm followed by the Annual William A. Irvin 5K run on June 19. Everyone can relax with a movie in the park at Leif Erikson Park featuring “Leatherheads” starring George Clooney and Renee Zellweger, who visited Duluth to promote the movie last year. June 20 dawns with the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon and the pinnacle 33rd Annual Grandma’s Marathon. Click Here for a full line-up of events happening during race weekend.

The Photographers Exhibition at the Duluth Art Institute in collaboration with the University of Minnesota runs now until August 30. The Duluth Art Institute is also showing the Visions of Planetary Landscapes exhibit beginning June 18. Chester Creek Concerts kick off June 2 at Chester Bowl. Concerts start at 7 pm and run through August 4. Take is a baseball game with the Duluth Huskies at Wade Stadium. The Renegade Comedy Theatre have several different performances throughout the summer. The Duluth Playhouse also offers up theatrical entertainment. Northern Lights Books & Gifts has several artists doing book signings throughout the summer. Check the websites for dates and times. Sailboat races take place every Wednesday starting at 6 pm. Fitger’s courtyard is a prime location for viewing.

The 7th Annual COPA (Cirrus Owners Pilots Association) Migration has arrived! We are looking forward to seeing all of our friends again this year at the Inn on Lake Superior. Events start on Thursday with the COPA Cabana in our backyard overlooking Lake Superior. Have fun participants!
