FinnFest 2008 Coming to Duluth
Posted on April 23rd 2008 in Announcements
Duluth, Minnesota will host a very special event this summer for five days from Wednesday, July 23rd through Sunday, July 27th. It is the annual FinnFest Festival that moves from state to state in United States each year and the event in Duluth will be extra special because of several reasons:
• It is the 25th FinnFest held in United States
• The Minnesota Orchestra under the world famous conductor Osmo Vänskä (who came to Minneapolis from Lahti, Finland) will have an all Finnish Concert at the DECC Auditorium.
• The President of the Republic of Finland, Tarja Halonen, is intending to attend our FinnFest this summer.
There are more that 25 committees working on all aspects of this event and you can check out some of over 200 lectures, demonstrations and musical events already scheduled by visiting our website: www.finnfest2008.com. You can also support us by visiting our Tori (Market place) which has over hundred booths selling unusual and interesting items during the Event.
We are looking for financial support as sponsors, or advertising in our Souvenir Program Book. Sponsorships range from $25,000 to $2,000 and below. Any amount would be welcome.
However, the time is short as we need to have our Souvenir Program book information from sponsors, supporters and advertisers by mid-May.
I truly hope that you can help us in making this exiting Event memorable for all who attend and for all the people in the Duluth – Superior and surrounding areas.
