At Sara’s Table Chester Creek Café offers a modern menu reasonably priced and served in a casual atmosphere comfortable to any diner. We do our best to utilize farm products from our region and to present them in an unpretentious yet appealing manner-delicious of course! We take the extra steps to make everyone feel comfortable in our restaurant. We are involved in community action and practice sustainability, fairness and vision in everything we do.
Recycling is at the core of our existence. Our tables are from recycle pine from a house that Carla Blumberg (one of the owners) deconstructed. The booths and bookshelves are made from recycled wood from the original Taran’s Marketplace; the interior wooden ceiling was extracted from vintage wooden coolers that were located in the basement of the original meat market. The tin exterior roof was restored and pulled piece by piece from the old building and used for the remodeled building.

Most of our products are regionally produced and we pursue organic foods as much as our costs will allow. We are a member of Heartland Foods Network, a group of food service industries committed to purchasing and distributing local foods. Our beef is from Thousand Hills Farms, our pork from Pastures a Plenty and most of our poultry is organic and raised in Minnesota. Local producer Dave Rogotzke supplies our award winning maple syrup and Wild Alaskan King Salmon.

Our library is full of books for sale, and we have room to cater larger parties. A big screen television and audiovisual equipment is available in our meeting room. Please ask for reservations.
Why Three Names? At Sara’s Table was a coffee shop and bookstore in Duluth founded by co-owner Barb Neubert in the 1990’s. Chester Creek Cafe reflects the surrounding neighborhood and the Taran’s Marketplace was a neighborhood grocery store until the mid 1990’s. Thus the three names, At Sara’s Table Chester Creek Cafe in the old Taran’s Marketplace.
We are open Monday- Saturday 7:00am-9:oopm Sundays 7:30am-4pm
