Bayfront Festival Park has wide open spaces for flying kites, tossing a Frisbee or just having a picnic. Summer months bring music and entertainment with the Bayfront Blues Festival as well as local entertainers. Not far from the park is the Lakewalk. This boardwalk extends for miles along the shores of Lake Superior. Duluth Visitors can walk, run, rollerblade, or bicycle their way along the Lakewalk. Multiple seated bikes may be rented in Canal Park.
Just over the Aerial Lift Bridge is Park Point. Visitors can meander to the Park Point Beach and enjoy jumping the waves of Lake Superior, search for agates, enjoy a game of volleyball in the park, or play with the kids in the playground. With Lake Superior as your back yard, take a charter fishing expedition for the day with licensed guides and equipment provided.

The Proctor Speedway near Duluth and the Superior Speedway in Wisconsin offer visitors a chance to watch stock car racing.
