    Bellisio

Posted on February 12th 2009 in Bellisios

opolo-poster.pdfOn Sunday, March 1, 2009, at 6:30 p.m., please join us here at Bellisio’s Italian Restaurant and Wine Bar for “A Night at Opolo Vineyards”.  Bellisio’s Executive Chef Michael Morelli, and his team, will be preparing exquisite cuisine to match with our expertly chosen wines from the Opolo Vineyards. Rick Quinn, owner of Opolo Vineyards, and Lukas Peters, Sales Representative at Domace Vino, will be on hand to introduce us to some of their favorite wines from the Opolo Vineyards.

Rick Quinn was born and raised in Duluth, Minnesota, graduated from Morgan Park High School and went on to attend the University of Minnesota Duluth.  He joined the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department in 1976. Seeing California as a land of opportunity, he moved there in 1979, and went into real estate. As his business grew, Rick became very impressed and interested in the quality of California wines. This appreciation turned into a hobby gone wild and in 1995 Rick began the acquisition of over 300 acres of prime grape vineyards on the central coast of California. In addition to the production of estate bottled Opolo Wines, Rick also sells grapes to leading wineries in Napa Valley and Paso Robles.

This promises to be a night of great food and great wine. Our seating is limited so please call and make your reservation soon.  The cost of the complete dinner, wine, and gratuity will be $100.00 per person plus tax.  Please call Angela Dormanen or LeeAnn Smith at 727-4921 to reserve your ticket.

    What

Posted on June 9th 2008 in Vista Fleet Lunch or Dinner Cruise

Vista Fleet StarThe answer to that question is….THE VISTA FLEET!!! The Vista Fleet provides the very best view, up close and personnal of the big Lakers and Salties coming and going from our harbor. Did you know that the Twin Ports IS the LARGEST INLAND SEAPORT in the WORLD? It typically ranks around the 15th busiest port in the USA well ahead of ports like San Fransico and Seattle!

Our cruises leave the Duluth Dock (located on the harbor side of the DECC) every two hours starting at 11:30 (going to 9:30 on June 19th). You can enjoy a Vista Dog or popcorn or order ahead and enjoy a pizza from the area’s famous Tiki Tina Pizzeria! OR… have a Captains Lunch or Great Lakes Dinner aboard the Vista Star with food provided by the Award Winning Savories Catering (it includes the largest cut of Prime Rib you will ever see)!

Having a Birthday or special get together, we handle those too!

Planning a Wedding, what better background and what a value, call Sarah our Sales Director at 218-529-7705 about our many packages.

    At

Posted on November 27th 2007 in Chester Creek Cafe - At Sara's Table

At Sara’s Table Chester Creek Café offers a modern menu reasonably priced and served in a casual atmosphere comfortable to any diner. We do our best to utilize farm products from our region and to present them in an unpretentious yet appealing manner-delicious of course! We take the extra steps to make everyone feel comfortable in our restaurant. We are involved in community action and practice sustainability, fairness and vision in everything we do.
Recycling is at the core of our existence. Our tables are from recycle pine from a house that Carla Blumberg (one of the owners) deconstructed. The booths and bookshelves are made from recycled wood from the original Taran’s Marketplace; the interior wooden ceiling was extracted from vintage wooden coolers that were located in the basement of the original meat market. The tin exterior roof was restored and pulled piece by piece from the old building and used for the remodeled building.

Most of our products are regionally produced and we pursue organic foods as much as our costs will allow. We are a member of Heartland Foods Network, a group of food service industries committed to purchasing and distributing local foods. Our beef is from Thousand Hills Farms, our pork from Pastures a Plenty and most of our poultry is organic and raised in Minnesota. Local producer Dave Rogotzke supplies our award winning maple syrup and Wild Alaskan King Salmon.

Our library is full of books for sale, and we have room to cater larger parties. A big screen television and audiovisual equipment is available in our meeting room. Please ask for reservations.
Why Three Names? At Sara’s Table was a coffee shop and bookstore in Duluth founded by co-owner Barb Neubert in the 1990’s. Chester Creek Cafe reflects the surrounding neighborhood and the Taran’s Marketplace was a neighborhood grocery store until the mid 1990’s. Thus the three names, At Sara’s Table Chester Creek Cafe in the old Taran’s Marketplace.
We are open Monday- Saturday 7:00am-9:oopm Sundays 7:30am-4pm
