Much To Do In Duluth For Free
Posted on July 27th 2007 in Things To Do
You don’t have to spend a lot of money to enjoy the Zenith city of Duluth, Minnesota. The Lake Superior Marine Museum at the foot of the Aerial Lift Bridge in Canal Park is always free and offers a wealth of information about the twin ports of Duluth, MN and Superior, WI as well as shipping schedules and marine artifacts.
Canal Park is a central point when visiting Duluth in the summer. You can walk the lakewalk or enjoy a stroll along the pier watching the 1000 foot ore boats come in and out of the harbor beneath the Lift Bridge.
Just over the Minnesota Slip Bridge and a short walk around the DECC and the Great Lake Aquarium, you will find Bayfront Festival Park and Playfront, a large playground for kids.
Over the Aerial Lift Bridge is Park Point. There are two public beach locations. The second public beach is the largest with a beach house, ball fields, playground and plenty of space to throw a frisbee or fly a kite. And of course, there is the beach. Miles of sand along the shores of Lake Superior. The Lake is a wonderful relief when the days are hot.
Duluth, Minnesota Weather is notoriously fickle and incredibly beautiful. Here’s the latest weather-Duluth, MN style.
