Top 10 Things to do in Duluth Minnesota
Posted on June 27th 2007 in Things To DoWhether you are coming to Duluth, MN on business and lodging in one of many fine hotels or bringing the entire family on vacation, here are the top 10 things we recommend while visiting:
1. The best way to see the city of Duluth and Lake Superior is to take a narrated sightseeing cruise with the Vista Fleet. They offer lunch and dinner cruises as well.
2. Visit Canal Park. Canal Park offers shopping and some of the best dining at the classic Grandma’s Restaurant. You can walk the pier and watch huge ships come in and out of the Duluth - Superior harbor beneath the Aerial Lift Bridge. Enjoy a stroll along the Lakewalk - a Duluth version of the boardwalk.
3. The Lake Superior Zoo is a must see for anyone who loves animals. The Polar Bear Exhibit is a hit with everyone.
4. Everybody loves S’mores and the only place in town to do them each night is at the Inn on Lake Superior in Canal Park. You have to be a registered guest but a night at the Inn will not be disappointing.
5. Glensheen - The Historical Congdon Estate is a mansion of great proportions. Tours are offered daily. Some say the mansion is haunted by Lady Congdon and her nurse.
6. With close proximity to Lake Superior, the Great Lakes Aquarium lets visitors get an up close view of freshwater fish found in Lake Superior and other Minnesota lakes.
7. While it is only open to registered guests, the Edgewater Resort & Waterpark has northern Minnesota’s only indoor waterpark with slides, lazy river, activity area, zero entry pool and so much more. It is fun for all ages.
8. The Duluth Depot - St. Louise County Heritage & Arts Center - is a train enthusiast’s dream. Now a museum, the Depot has traveling exhibits, the Duluth Playhouse and it is where visitors can ride the North Shore Scenic Railroad.
9. The Duluth - Superior harbor is known for the large ore and grain boats that come in and out of the harbor. Visitors can tour a retired ore boat, the William A. Irvin Ore Boat Museum is docked in Canal Park.
10. Visitors can hire a charter fishing boat to go out on Lake Superior and fish for salmon, trout, walleye or a host of other freshwater lake fish.
Duluth, Minnesota Weather is notoriously fickle and incredibly beautiful. Here’s the latest weather-Duluth, MN style.

I like the suggestion about the ore boat tour. We vacation in your neck of the woods quite often.
I bet it was rather hard to decide which activities were the top ten. The Skyline Park might be a good choice too!
Regarding #1: We took a harbor tour up there a few years ago. I am not certain if it was the same outfit. There was no lunch or dinner, but we still thought it was great.

By the way, I like your site and would like to incorporate your local search engine idea into my Minneapolis real estate site.
But I can’t find your contact information, so I am leaving this message here.

We’re glad you like the application Kermit. What’s interesting about DuluthGuide is that businesses who post content gain prominence throughout the site just by posting. The site was created for a client of ours. I’ve emailed you information regarding DuluthGuide’s owner/operator.
Posting Has Benefits
The most recent post from any business (subcategory) is placed on the middle of the associated parent category page (like “hotels” or restaurants) AND the homepage, AND the most recent posts list on every page, etc… Businesses are rewarded for posting.
These types of content managements structures drive traffic. We know their viral. We know they can create buzz and drive blogs, social communities, and attain good organic rankings. We expect that businesses will “game” the site to get on the homepage as soon as they figure it out. I would…
Search Engine Profile
The search engine is tuned to crawl combinations of internal listings, external websites (to whatever depth we specify) and database content. The mashup with social media is based on rigs by the cream of SEM/SEO bloggers. Videos, either internally or externally hosted like on youTube) and podcasts play right in each post.
2 major analytics packages directly associate PPC with conversion revenue tracking. I think it’s a great fit for real estate. We’ll send you an email with information regarding the team that created DuluthGuide. A social media release to communities like StumbleUpon can be orchestrated from within each post as is common in the blog world. The site accepts pingbacks and trackbacks and is plugged into the blog and blog feed search engines.
